Rufus, the Life Saver.

Last November 30, I finally decided to reformat my laptop and change operating systems. My current systems were Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 8 Pro. Yes, I while back I decided to dual boot. My main OS (Operating System) was Windows 8 Pro, and because of that, some of the programs I use are not yet supported by Windows 8. So I decided to dual boot.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

So, it's 8:47pm PST of December 24, 2013, and I'm wishing all of you a Merry Christmas! Ah, Christmas, that one time in a year where families get together to celebrate the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. It's a time where we give not only gifts, but also forgiveness to those who have hurt us. It's that one time where we forget all our problems and just have a good time.

As I am writing this, I am alone in front of the computer while everybody is singing and having a drink. *Sigh. I don't know how it came to this. Hahah! Well, it's a lonely Christmas for me! I think I'll just have a quick nap and wake up when it's time for the fooods! Hehehe.

But before that, I would like to thank all of those people who read my blog. Words cannot express how much happy I am! God Bless all of you! Again, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Cheers! ✌

Yes I finally set up my Projection Screen!

Good day! Recently my room just got rearranged to get my laptop connect to the wifi. Yes, unfortunately my laptop can only connect to the wifi in some parts of the room. It's picky. I can connect here, I move a little and it connects! I was just frustrated. That place is in my bed. And I can't do my assignments there. *Sigh. That's why I stay outside, where I have my other room. It's our old kitchen. It's almost my "living room" because I stay here most of the times. I only go to my room to sleep. We'll go to that some other time. I am writing this because I finally set up my room for a Projection Screen, the thing that you use to project the image on your projector. Haha!
My new bed arrangement.

Just a little update.

Oh glob. My life's outdated! I'm really sorry for not being able to continue to post these past few months. One reason would be school. Yes the second semester has a lot of vacations and programs but I think it's also the time to work on projects, given the time of vacations. Truth is, I have two draft posts. Both of them are still both unfinished. *Sigh* But when I finally find time to work on them, I will finish them. They are both set on a scheduled date, so they'll just pop up when they're finally done.

On my studies, I don't really know. It's like I'm not using my full potential. The last time I think I really studied was last school year. (During my sophomore year) I don't know what happened to me. I was doing quite well this past semester. Maybe it's this certain instructor, again! It's our second time taking up math under him. And it's not really productive. We rely on classmates and self study. And you know what? It's kind of making me lazy to study that subject, since the instructor himself is a bit lazy sometimes. Other than that, my performance is quite decent, although I'm trying to give it my best.

Anyways, I'm really hyped about the MMSU Intercollegiate Film Fest. It was announced last November 18, but we just received information this morning that the storyboard for our film must be submitted next week Friday. What? 1 week to do the storyboard? You do know how hard it is to make one, right? The film is said to be 30 - 45 minutes long. We, the ElectroCraft Production was planning some stories awhile back. Unfortunately, due to laziness and lack of communication/motivation, none of those stories were inked. All of them were just ideas. I was tasked to do a script for one story but I couldn't because I don't really know how to make it a cohesive and believable story. It was about this guy who got an amnesia and tried to (I'm sorry I can't disclose the rest of the details yet) Wait, I think it's the other story about these two guys. Ugh. I think there were about three topics, but it ended up becoming a single story. Oh crap. Haha!

We had the Pre-Production meeting earlier this afternoon. Faye discussed the story with the SAC and the adviser of the COE Talent Team, along with us to finalize the story. Equipments, props, and casting was done, although they weren't final yet, we still to confirm if the actors are willing. I am excited because it's the first time I am working with different people (aside from ElectroCraft Crew), shoot on a location aside from the college and our house (lol), and some more that I have yet to experience. I think I should blog about this, yes! Well, that's all for now. Kindly wait for my overdued  posts (which are quite long by the way). Cheers! ✌

Guess That Logo Windows 8 Exploit

Good day friends! While doing this(will update once it's done), I found something, buried deep inside the WindowsApps folder. WindowsApps is the default installation directory for apps you downloaded from the Windows Store. Some months ago, I changed the directory because I do not want my C: drive to contain a lot files, I want to keep it as free as possible. So I changed the default installation directory for windows apps to another drive.
I found an exploit. Mehehe
Guess That Logo? Do we have to? >:)

How to Combine Your Facebook Cover Photo and Profile Picture Together using GIMP

Hey everybody! Did you guys heard of the Great Giraffe Challenge? (facebook link) I have, and I failed that's why I changed my facebook profile picture into a giraffe for a week. (._. (The original riddle says only 3 days but the guy I got the question from said 1 week) Andrew Strugnell, the creator of the riddle, says he will release a riddle weekly. [1] Luckily I answered the second riddle correct.

Now I will teach you how to do this, in GIMP.
My previous facbook profile. I just changed it :P

Break Time!

Hi there, here's a quick post. I'm really sorry for not posting these past few weeks. It's just that I'm worn out from school. I would just like to say that I'm taking the rest of the month (October) to rest, relax and unwind, so I hope you understand. Don't worry, I'll return soon! ;)

So what's your plan this Halloween? Me? I'm trying to make some kind of mask, but I doubt I can finish it in time for Halloween. It's my first ever cardboard build. It's the Joker from The Batman. (This one) (And this is what I've accomplished so far)Well, good luck to me and see you soon! Cheers! ✌

September's Judgment: Mechanics 101

I can't believe it's already October! September truly was a very busy month, so sorry for not posting. And my post last month was about August! What!? A lot has happened this September, some were fun and exciting, and some were depressing and sad. Let me narrate what has happened this September. (I should have just drafted some of the details then, I don't have that much long term memory.)

September was like climbing a mountain, uhm no. September was like pushing yourself through a needle hole. Yep that's the description. It was Saturday morning, and it was raining as I traveled to school. The rain drops on my coat just like the time is counting down to my judgment. It's as if the weather is predicting the results for the exam. We had the FINAL EXAMINATION for the subject, Mechanics 101.

-ber Months have Started!

Hello friends! How're you? I'm sorry I have been inactive (online) for the past few weeks. Well, August has been a very busy month for us. I will also expect September to be the same. Today I will just make an overview of what I did this August. (My memory betrays me, so I will only put what I remember. lol)

Let me begin with exams. August is the "Midterms" month and expect a huge wave of exams approaching! But since we're on engineering, we don't usually have midterm examinations, just our minor subjects. Then again, since we don't have midterm exams, there are A LOT of long exams! It's like exam every other week!

And then there were the Programs organized by our organizations. The Peer Facilitating Training-Workshop that was held last August 30, 2013 at the University Function Hall, is an annual

Simple Door Lock Mechanism

Good day! So I booted up my old desktop the other day and saw some images I didn't know I had. Some of these were already uploaded on my facebook but I don't remember I uploaded them. LOL. Anyway here is a simple door [un]lock mechanism that I devised. As of then (actually until now), it was only an unlocking mechanism. But I have been thinking possible ways to also make it a locking mechanism which I will discuss in the Suggestions/Recommendations later.

This is only a prototype. I will make another one in the future

My old friend, revisited after a year.

Looking For Johnny Moon 2013

The Looking For Johnny Moon is a project of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte to train Ilocanos in the field of Creative Media Arts, and in a aim to promote Ilocos Norte as a "shooting ground" for national and maybe, international films. Johnny Moon is the English translation of Juan Luna, (Juan = Johnny, Luna = Moon) a national artist and an icon of art in Ilocos Norte.

A Fansign from my Idol and our Almost Failed Report.

Sorry for not posting last week. You see, the week before last week, I lost a battle of RPS. (Rock - Paper - Scissors) You can read about it on my last post. Well, we, I'm sorry, I did a lot of research of the dances that hit in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, the 2000's, here in the Philippines. But unfortunately, I kind of failed. :/ The only resource that I had are the threads from certain forums where the users post about their experiences in the said time periods.

The report was OK in the beginning, I did the "Twist", but as the time went on, the teacher's interest became lesser and lesser by the decade. He was looking for some Filipino dances, but we didn't have any until the 1990's! The teacher almost stopped our report, and we would've failed, until in the 2000's, he asked who are my other group mates. And since we're reporting on dances, he made my other group mates dance, including Cyril, a passive and silent student.

Warning: Long Post

Hello friends! How's life so far? My life has been so crazy these past few days. Here are some of the details, and we'll go through them later. Last July 13, I was asked by a friend if I can edit/create a video. Of course I can, we can. Since we have a crew that was formed from our Human 1 Class. We had a LOT of exams. My false teeth are kinda loose, much more!

Let's begin with the video thing. I started video editing in high school. This was the first video I ever edited (Click here). I got into editing when I came across a compositing software called FX Home VisionLab Studio. It had some pretty good effect presets. (as you can see in the video) All I did in the video was drag-and-drop. Then I saw the 'light saber' effect in the program, and I immediately planned a shoot. This was the outcome. (Click here, Facebook link) Post production (editing) took two days because I had to keyframe everything. Haha. And there were no sounds because my old desktop had no compatible audio drivers. :(

Anyway, from accepting the video editing, I learned a lot. When she was stating how she would like the opening sequence, I already knew I was going to use a 3D program, since I (think) cannot do that using a compositing program. The opening sequence was a gate, in which you have to enter the correct password to get into a building. Here's a snapshot of what I came up with.

3D Scene Construction
Picture was slightly edited. I added the sky in the background.

Blog Post #4 - An Awesome Week

I was supposed  to post this last week but the internet was out again *sigh. We were already thinking of switching ISPs (Internet Service Provider) then the first awesome thing happened, the afternoon we were talking about that, the internet worked itself! Haha. I missed the internet during those days without connection so last weekend I indulged myself in internetly goodness. (Read that with Ryan Connolly's voice)

Last Monday, (July 8, 2013) we were supposed to have a class at 11am-2pm but the meeting that the instructor attended wasn't adjourned yet. So our class was again suspended for the nth time, and it was our last period for that day. We finally had our first meeting for that subject (Draw 21: Computer Aided-Drafting) this afternoon. Anyway, since we were in the library, why not make use of it? So me and my awesome friends went to the American Corner of the University Library to enjoy some games and some air conditioning goodness. (Again, read it with Ryan Connolly's voice)

DIY Arc Reactor

Hello friends! I just want to share this DIY Arc Reactor I made back in 2011, February to be exact. This was actually my first time to do an electronics DIY project. Although it did not turn out to be what I wanted, it's still awesome and hey, it lights up!

Light'em up!

Blog Post #3 - 2 Weeks of Inactivity

Good day fellow humans! Sorry I have been inactive for the past two weeks. First all of, I have my school works, and secondly, there's this thing that I had to do for a friend. Besides those, nothing interesting have been happening with my journey through life.

Well, there were some good things that happened last Tuesday, July 2. We had an exam in Mechanics. It was all or nothing because the teacher only gave us one problem,
and only one (I think) got the correct answer. Yes that's right. Only one in our whole class got the correct answer, all of the rest got 5 marks for effort. The problem was very tricky because you have to apply what you know about circles and rectangles. And here's the good news,

How to Download Torrents Directly (Not P2P)

Downloading using bitTorrent clients can be a bit slow sometimes, like 0.01 kb/s. So in this tutorial you'll learn how to download Torrents directly using Zbigz and Furk. I use this websites because they're really convenient and easy to use. Zbigz is free to use, however, Furk on the other hand requires you to register with a code.

Blog Post #2 - 2 Pokemon that Caught my Attention

pkmn Black Version
Pokemon Black Logo

Recently I was playing Pokemon Black to prepare my self for the much awaited release of the Gen VI Pokemon - Pokemon X & Y this October. And because I was outdated with the Pokemon series. The last version I played was Fire Red which was a long time ago, and I haven't even played the Gen IV series! Well, I played a little bit of Platinum and Soul Silver during the summer of 2011 which by now I had forgotten the story line and the other stuff. Haha.

Blog Post #1 - End of Summery Days

Okay now summer is almost over. . Wait! It's already over! Haha. I had just enrolled in my university, and boy! That was really exhausting! Could you imagine 5 hours waiting in line? Of course you can. Anyone can. Here is a photo of what it looks like, click here, credits to Glenn Dave. (Can you find me there? lol)

Anyway, how did you spend your summer? Did you visit other places? Did you enjoy your 2 months vacation? Did you do any productive things? My summer? Well, its. . . cool. Yes, I did visit some places and yes, I kinda enjoyed my 2 month vacation. But I did not do any productive things. Why? Haha. I would be asking you the same question.

The Flower - A Poem

Hey! Another poem from me! lol. Yeah, I used to write when I was in high school. But now, I just cannot write anymore. But it's no problem. I know I will be able to write again in the future. I think this is the very first poem I wrote? Yeah I think so. I think I also wrote another poem when I was writing this one, But I don't remember if I finished it or something, eh. That was like 3 years ago. Hahaha!
Anyway, this next poem was originally written as a project. Then a friend of mine noticed this and asked if I can replace the names with their names. The crazy thing is, it fits! Haha! The original names (if I remember correctly) were Rexian (named after my nephew) and Rose Mary Jane, because it has a name of a flower, which this poem is all about (did you see what I did there?)

Envisage - A Poem

Good day friends! I just want to share with you this poem I wrote back in 2011. And whenever I read it, damn! I feel amazed! Haha. I don't even know how I was able to write something this long. Maybe because I had an inspiration back then. :> lol

This poem's title, Envisage, means "to conceive of as a possibility in the future; foresee" according to thefreedictionary.com. And you'll see why when you read it. This was written during our exams, and I needed a break from this thing called 'sparks' and write something that is not just about love for other people, but love for the environment as well. Well, here it is.

Free T-Shirt Template for GIMP Users

Hello every one! Here's a quick post. I made a simple template in designing a t-shirt using gimp, a free image manipulating program.

(I do not own the image I used in creating the template. I merely searched for a t-shirt template on Google and enhanced it. If you own the image, I apologize in advance if I used it without your permission.)

I used to design t-shirts for organizations when I was in high school. And this template came in handy.
You can download the template here.
You can download the UPDATED file here. See Postscript for changes.

The template consists of 2 groups of layers - Outlines and t-shirt Colors and 3 individual layers - highlights, Linings and the gray bg.

Lussok Cave

Good day friends! Sorry for not posting here much. I'm currently playing Pokemon and sometimes I forgot about stuff.

We had a little vacation over at Dagupan, Luna, Apayao during April 24-27 of 2013 and we visited a Cave located at [forgot what is is, will ask my mom later] which is 30 minutes away from where we were staying. This is an amazing experience since I haven't seen, or been to a real cave. And I didn't know what to expect, well next time I'll be prepared. I couldn't take a lot of photos because I didn't have the camera with me along the way.

The third and last river to cross until the Cave.
Look at those light leaks! It's also my first time to
witness nature this beautiful, 'cause I'm an internet guy. lol
We had to cross 3 rivers to get there. (I wasn't able to take pictures of the two because as I said, someone else was carrying the camera.)

Adventure Time Wardrobe

Good day! Welcome to my first post on my blog. After a few months I finally decided to post things, because I'm lazy, like that. Playing pokemon and stuff.
Anyway, I present to you, my Adventure Time Wardrobe!
adventure time wardrobe

We had to remake the internals of the wardrobe to make it more organized and neat. And hey, why not repaint it as well? The old paint was just plain green. No designs on it. BORING! So we (my brother) decided to add a painting on it. And that is what we came up with. I chose Adventure Time because it's easy to draw and its cute. :3 Who wouldn't want Finn and Jake painted on their cabinets? And it looks like a door to Adventure Time. LOL just kidding.

I couldn't find a good picture on the internet of them high-five-ing so I kinda put together some pictures.
Here is the digital version:
The black line in the middle is supposed to be where the doors of the cabinet separate.
And here are the original images from Google Image Search:

So yeah, I just put one picture on top of the other to get my desired look.

And now some more pictures:
Painted the background first. Because that's what my brother told me to do. :D

Oh look! Some random strokes! lol I was frustrated because of this and at the same time, glad. Because I have some left over mix of blue that was going to waste if I didn't use it. And you want to know who did this? You're right. A 2 year old kid. Hahaha! I went back to look for some bottle caps to put paint and when I returned, BOOM! A magical brush painted the mountains.

But I was able to repaint it the same afternoon. Whew.
I also should have painted the Adventure Time logo on the top right corner my but my mother was scolding me that it was behind schedule (I only work half day 'cause I sleep until 12pm lol) and my clothes are now collecting dust.

Next time logo... Next time.
